Spain
Details and photographs kindly supplied by Jose Luis Fernandez
In 1983 the
Italian company Gleismac purchased three Class 740-0 diesel locomotives
from Yugoslavia. Two of them
were acquired by the Spanish infrastructure company COMSA, one was used
for spare parts and the other was regauged to metre gauge. The working
loco is 740-006 (Duro Djakovic 879/1970) now renumbered to 56LOD3032, the
loco acquired for spares is believed to be 740-020 while the other machine,
740-003, was last reported to be in Malaysia. Since the early 1990's
740-006 has worked on many of the metre gauge lines in northern Spain.
