Nannerch - 'N' gauge

Modeller: Mike Williams

For some years I have wanted to model the small station of Nannerch, where I spent some of my childhood.  The Club's 2011 Exhibition presented the perfect opportunity!  The station was on the Chester, Mold and Denbigh line and the line was closed in April 1962.  The station buildings were subsequently demolished and the trackbed used for road improvements to the A541.  The layout consists of the station itself, the nearby farm buildings and the railways continuation towards the next station - Star Crossing, although I have been forced to foreshorten the layout somewhat.  At the rear of the layout are two loops for each direction and a single siding.  The trains are typical of those which worked the line in its last years with 2 or 3 coach passenger trains and short pick-up goods trains.
