The
Royal Train visited the line on the 12th of July 2004 when the Prince of
Wales paid a visit during his summer tour of Wales. The last time
the Royal Train was seen on the line was in July 1953. Motive power
was provided by 67005, in Royal claret livery, top and tailed by 67006.
The Prince's itinerary included visits to Llanrwst and Trefriw to inspect
repairs done following flood damage in February this year. After
the Prince left the train at Tal y Cafn, the Royal Train went to Llanrwst
station, where he rejoined, before the train retraced its route to Llandudno
Junction.
