The shed pilot at Rotstein is 70 091, a 2-4-0T built for the Bavarian State Railways in 1916 for light passenger duties. 


215 031-6 crosses the bridge over the River Vils which eventually flows into the Rhine.


2-8-2T 93 374 is seen bringing a freight down from Knopfbach.  A Roco model, the class were originally built as Prussian State Railways T14.


A P8 4-6-0 in original condition powers a goods train out of Rotstein.


0-6-0T 80 028 is shunting the yard in Rotstein.  These powerful little shunters were introduced in 1928 and 39 were built.


2-8-2 tank 86 1800-1 stands in the yard.  Over 800 of these locos were built by the Deutsche Reichsbahn from 1928 onwards.  A useful loco for local passenger and freight trains.


The Schmidt family own the 'Rotsteiner' vineyard, their new house has a panoramic view over the station.
