The look out man acknowledges the arrival of a northbound passenger train as the track gang pack ballast under a point.  In the background 55 2781 awaits its next duty.  Another Prussian State design of which no fewer than 5,155 were built as their Class G.8.1.


The overhead crane in the goods yard is kept busy loading wagons with logs from the well forested slopes surrounding Rotstein.


Pacific 01-125 leaves the south tunnel and passes the signal box on an express.  Over 230 of these handsome machines were constructed, more info here.


064 389-0 crosses the bridge over the River Vils.


2-10-2 tank 95 0028-1 is on shed for a buffer to be replaced.  These locos are very useful on the steeply graded lines around Rotstein.


335 090-7, a Köf III is able to handle most of the yard shunting duties with ease.



 

Oil burning 2-10-0 043 315-1 waits to cross a southbound freight in Rotstein station loop.


0-10-0 tank 94-1730 leaves the south tunnel on a local freight.
