Currently the train runs once a week with the empty wagons going to Shotton on a friday evening and the loaded train running on saturday morning. The first train of empty wagons to start the service is seen at Wrexham General on 8th August 2008.
Following additional Welsh Assembly funding, all services are now booked to be worked by 2 car Class 150 units. This is 150251 in Arriva Trains Wales livery at Wrexham General platform 4 on 10th April 2008.
